Another Week in Bel Air

Things are going good with my new companion! We are having fun and working hard! He is a cool guy and we get along get. Bel Air is good, it is still pretty hard to find people but we are getting it better now. 94% are white here so it definitely is not intercity. We have some solid potentials this week. We are not sure on Danny's baptism, he really wants to get baptized but his mom doesn't want to rush it, I don't know why. But once we teach him all the lessons we will set up a date and we have two more lessons. So that will be coming up. I feel like I will be in Bynum Run for a long time. For sure till January so I am trying to make it super fun and still work super hard and focus a lot on studies and stuff!! I like it here and I am loving the ward, they feel like home and I get along with a lot of families. It is a good time in my mission, probably the best time right now. Stinks that not a TON is happening but I feel like it is about to lift off! I am excited to stay here.

New Companion

Hello, this week was solid for sure!! Wednesday I got my trainee..... I got a SICK comp!!! hahahahha he are lighting it up in Bel Air!! Yesterday we finally found two new investigators! So we can finally start teaching them along with Danny. Gotta love the work! We had 5 appointments fall through also though so that was a little tough. But Elder Selk is his name and he is from Canada. He likes sports and we talk about ballin a lot. He is just a cool guy, reminds me a lot of Ryan Cox. He is smart and very prepared, he went to a college in Canada before coming on a mission. He is 19 but I’m still older. He is cool and we have some good times. So I am liking the mission and the area and the work! I’m doing good, doing good. Shout out to Gordon Hayward who should of stayed in UTAH!!!! Also to Brevon Holmes for having his farewell this week!! Good luck!! It was a great week and we are going golfing soon! Love you guys!!

Busy Week

Well week 5 in Bel Air and we are chillin. Actually we are not chillin, we are working hard and having fun doing the Lord's work!! Solid, hard, fun, sick, cool, interesting, and dope week. We are trying to stay busy and teach.
Monday- We ate dinner at the Brown’s house. Sister Brown is in charge of our meals. We also got haircuts, I am bald. Just messin. I wish.
Tuesday- District meetings. I gave the instruction on Christ like Attributes, It went solid I guess. We hit up panda express for district lunch. After we went on exchanges, I was with elder Farrell in Bynum Run. The member appointments fell through and so we tracted(knocked doors) the rest of the night.
Wednesday- We did service at Lasos, exchanged back, visited some potentials and then got Pizza Hut at like 9:30... sweet, got that cheesy crust baby.
Thursday- We balled in the morning at the park across from our house. Weekly planned. Tracted for 3 hours because appointments fell though, and man satan was in the hearts of many that night. haha We got a lot of haters... It gets dark here at 7. Lots of rich uptight peeps. So it is hard for them to be humble I think, idk I still love them but man that night sucked and hurt the soul but we will be back.
Friday- We did service at lasos again, talked to sister Stegman and tracted, we had more haters but some were receptive so that was sweet.
Saturday- This was a sick day, we painted the Giliotoses porch, after we went and taught Danny Blanchard. Then did service at the Blanchards, lots of yard work so that was good. We visited some members and such at night.
Sunday- I love Sundays here, they are soo nice and chill and great. We had dinner at the Browns again, and visited some people. Elder Kershaw got to skype his grandpa who has cancer and will be passing away soon. That was from 8-9:15. After we got call outs for transfers.

So I am staying in Bynum Run and training a new missionary. So I  am fine with it, it should be good. Something that is way sick is our district. Elder Stone who came out with me is now the district leader, he is amazing. And his comp is Elder Coombs who Elder Stone has been training. I am training a new missionary. My comp Elder Kershaw is going to the other area in our district. So we are all way new and it is just way cool and fun. My old district leader from Westminster Elder Kulkarni is going to be my new zone leader so I am sooo excited for that!! I am happy, having fun, doing good, working super hard, and just being a missionary. 3 months out and 21 more to go. Shout out to my OLD man, Brent Brown hahah!!! He is turning 50 on the 19th!!! Love ya pops!! God bless, rip city, and roll tide.

Love, elder brown.

Building up Bel Air

Well, this email is gonna blow hahaha. I forgot everything that happened.... Sooooo it was a solid week though. We are trying to build up the area. Lots of visiting and stuff. We usually just go and knock doors and visit potentials, and formers, visit members and do a 21 day promise where we can follow up with them. Umm I ate at the Youngs twice this past week. I LOVE the Youngs sooo much. It is like being home.  They have 5 kids, 16, 14, 12 and two 10's. All members, way cool family. Uhh, I beat Elder Kershaw in Phase 10 at nights all the time. I think the overall score is like 120-54... I am money at that game. We taught Danny Sunday and so that was our first official lesson with an investigator! He is from a part member family, the Blanchards, and he is their son. I went on exchanges with Elder Gardner my district leader on Tuesday and Wednesday. Way cool dude, home schooled. I also have the lesson in district meeting tomorrow. We went to bdubs also on Tuesday after district meeting. We just do a lot of service and go around and tract a lot. Shout out to Jake Hadley who I found out is coming to the Baltimore mission in a couple of months! I have known him since 4th grade! It is hot and very humid here all the time. I am ready for the cold but know it will be super cold all the time and way cold. That's it, sorry I will be better at emails, I am the worst. Have a sweet week everyone!! Call outs are next week for transfers but I already know what is going to happen... so stay tuned!!! Love you all!!!

Best Week Yet

Hey everyone so this week was sick! Way better week than any week so far here on the mission. It started with a solid Tuesday. Wednesday was Zone Conference and interviews with the President. I loved zone conference and interviews both. I learned a lot and it was so awesome!
Thursday, alright here is the big day.... Melissa came!! (She lives 45 minutes away) My aunt came and visited me for a couple minutes!! Hahaha that was sooooo sweet!! I was completely shocked!! I was reading outside and Elder Kershaw was like hey there is someone at the door for you.. and it was Melissa!! hahahah Sooo awesome!! Shoutout to everyone who pitched in on all those treats!!! Thank you soo much!! So that was awesome!! I couldn't believe it!! So that day was way sweet!! Friday we had dinner at the Blanchards, they are part member family and it was way cool, we were there from 6:30 till like 8:30. We had dinner and talked a lot and they are a sweet family! Anyway we said hey can we teach Danny, their 12 year old, a lesson sometime, and they called Danny down from upstairs. We taught him the restoration lesson and invited him to be baptized, and he said yes, so that was cool. He is getting baptized at the end of this month, I’m super excited for him. He is a cool dude. So Saturday was way sick too, conference! Man that was soooo awesome. I loved it so much. Priesthood session was a little hard just cause I felt alone without dad and the brothers, but it was solid. Also I missed out on some ebelskievers which stunk again and I was a little homesick but it was fine. I am still pumped up from Elder Callister's talk on Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon haha. I have grown to love the Book of Mormon, I look forward to reading it everyday, it is awesome. Well that is about it. I am doing good.  We have found some potential investigators that I could see us teaching. Really happy to be here and love doin the work. Have a sick week everyone!!

Love, elder mac brown
