A Move to Pennsylvania

Hello Everyone! That is so sad about Grandma Brown and I am still shocked. She was an awesome grandma for sure! Definitely she had a lot of love for people. I am going to miss her a lot. It is so sad to think she is gone. And so happy to think we will see her again.

This week was good, my last in Bynum Run! We had some sweet lessons with the investigators! Mike came to Winters Run baptism so that was awesome! And we had a sweet lesson with him! We picked a lady from Ghana who is way cool, Luna. Picked a guy up from Congo. He is awesome, Sam. And then we picked up a couple of guys Ray, Jayden and their friend Keysha. Haha they were sweet. Keysha is super Christian black lady who did not like us at the start. She thought we were like a cult or something. But over time she loved us and gave us each a lucky rock! haha Also we had a good lesson with Alex. Larry is tonight so we are going to talk with him. Denise and her daughter are on Wednesday so I won't be able to be there for that. But they are super solid. I am going to miss all our investigators and members soo much. And Elder Hadley, he is so sweet and I have loved being with him. I will be saying bye to all the peeps tonight and tomorrow. Sad times.

I am going to Carlisle Pennsylvania! I am way excited. It is the most northern part of the mission. It is a big area but we share it with some sisters. We also share a car with them. I have heard it is a cool area. I will have to get used to it but for the most part I am pretty excited. I will be with Elder Beardall who has been there for 4 months. I will be the district leader there. I will get there on Wednesday and have to learn everything again! WOO! It should be good. Hope everyone has a good week this week.  I will be praying for everyone.

Love you all,
Mac

A ticket and the fall

Ahh. Where do I start. This was one of those weeks where it was just SWEET. Haha good and bad I guess. Mostly funny times. Life is funny. But I guess I will start with my ticket. I ran a red light and the camera got me. So that was $75 that I payed today. We had three area meeting this week and I got to hang with the assistants in the morning, they are hilarious. The meeting went great. We went on exchanges with the Susquehanna area, and we had a beast talk with them. They are having a hard time so it was good.
I ATE it on my bike this week. Totally ate it. hahaah funny story and people saw too. It is hard to explain how it happened but I was going up this side hill and I start to slip so I turned my bike towards the bottom of the hill but at the bottom was the road and I was flying so I slammed on my brakes and FLEW! hahaha I did a total 360 and slid down the hill. The bike fell on me so that hurt and landed on my shoulder with the plate so that didn't feel good but most of all it hurt my pride. Excuse my grammar.
We had a sweet lesson with our investigator Alex, we put him on date for March 11!! He is so sweet! So we are excited for him.
We also had the baptism for Darryn and Ethan! It was awesome! Everything went good. Brother Uhlig did the baptism and elder hadley and I confirmed. It was sweet.
We also ate at my favorite place Hip Hop chicken and you better believe that didn't sit well...dang good chicken though. Also I heard the jazz are ballin. DANG SWEET. TAKENOTE

Love y'all, elder b

Finding Investigators

This week was pretty good! Our investigators are good, some are progressing pretty well and some aren't. We did find one investigator and have quite a bit of potentials. His name is Larry, he is a headquarter referral, pretty dang solid. It is going great with Elder Hadley. Best part of the week was finding this sweet lady, Denise. In the morning Elder Hadley and I were studying how to find investigators. And we were praying hard to find someone who is ready. And so we went out and at like 4 we were walking around the sesaons, our apartment complex. We saw this guy across the road so we walked over to talk to him. He said he was working and walked into a complex. We followed him in. He went upstairs and we went down. We were about to knock on this door but then we both stopped and knocked a different one that we felt we should knock. So basically all these things were adding up. And Denise answered and she was like "oh I am actually very interested, I have a friend in Michigan that is a mormon and the elders there taught me once. And I have read the Book of Mormon twice with my friend." HAHA we were like DANG. hahah but she said that we barely caught her and that she is flying to see her friend in Michigan for two weeks. So we are going back over in two weeks. So that was super cool. The best times in the mission is when you realize you are an actual instrument in the hands of God. (Alma 29:9) God just totally put us at Denise's door. Dang awesome!

The worst part of the week was being a little sick. Sore throat and upset stomach. But I am okay now. So good week!

Good Week

This week was good! We did not find any new people to teach. But we did have a lot of lessons. Thank you for the prayers, we need them! It is going good with Elder Hadley, he is getting used to it for sure, he likes it. The best part of the week was probably the weather, it was super nice and we rode our bikes all week so street contacting went good. The worst part of the week was probably the success rate of people who wanted to listen. Last night we knocked from 6-9 and only got 1 return appointment. But it was a good week and ready to get going on the next.

New Companion!

Hello, things have been going well here! Elder Hadley from Kaysville is my comp!!! Hahah way funny I get to train him!! So that is way nice and he is awesome. He wants to work hard and teach people so it is great! He says almost the same things I said when I first got out. So I am glad that I get this transfer with him.

This week went great. We are teaching this lady Margret, she is like 60ish. We committed her to read the Book of Mormon on Monday and has been reading 5 chapters a day. So we will continue to work with her. She is planning on coming to church this week. Also this other guy we started to teach, his name is Mike. He is super nice about 55. He has a way good LDS friend and got taught all the lessons but had 2 strokes so forgot about it. But we gave him a ton of scriptures and then he said "That's it?" So he wants to read a ton. Also he contacted his Mormon friend and they are meeting this week. So he shall see with him, super super nice guy though. And we are continuing to teach Darryn and Ethan all the lessons. They are both super soild.

Had ZLC and got to see Elder Stone, he is our Zone Leader now! So I will be going on exchanges with him this transfer!

I can't really think of any funny story this week besides talking to this super racist old guy, I was laughing the whole time. It's one of those where you have to be there....some people.

Well I hope everyone is doing good and having fun! I left my camera at transfer so I will get it in a couple weeks at Zone Conference! Love you all!!

Blazin cold here in Bmore!

Haha! I will start off with a story. So I think it was Thursday night, we received a text from President saying that if missionaries don't have a car to go inside because of the cold. But we had the car this week so we were out knocking doors. We had been knocking for a while and we ended up knocking till 9. I was sooooo cold, the coldest I have ever been. I don't know the temperature but it was way in the negatives because of wind. I couldn't really feel anything. I also forgot my beanie. So I got home and showered and tried to get warm. Also the last house we knocked this lady told us to go inside, because the news said that skin exposed would get frost bite in 15 minutes!!! HAHAHAH!! So at that point I was a little scared. So I went to bed. At 12:22 I woke up totally numb! Couldn't feel anything but my heart and it was ice cold! hahah I thought I was going to die. Just kidding but I was a little scared. So I couldn't fall asleep for a while after I got tons of clothes on. Hahaha it ended up fine and we had to wake up at 4 for MLC. Soo just a bunch of bad news.

I also threw up Saturday night from Hip Hop chicken that we had in intercity Baltimore on Saturday morning on the way home from a mission conference with Elder Nielson of the 70. The chicken was one of the best foods I have ever had though so it was worth it!

Also we had a baptism for Nicole Clark this week!!! SOOOO sweet, she is soo awesome and her testimony is crazy awesome! We found her at the beginning of December and she was very prepared! I love their family so much and we are going to put her two sons, Darryn and Ethan on date for Feb 3rd this week. Elder Selk did the baptism and I confirmed the Holy Ghost.

We are getting smartphones! I had some training on it and it sounds really neat! Transfers are coming up this week so I will know if I stay or not. I am hoping I stay. This past week was super fun but stunk at the same time.

Doing great and having fun, hope y'all are doing great! Love you!
