Week 2 in the MTC

Man, it has gone by so fast. I know I've only been here for two weeks but it has gone by so fast. It seems like yesterday I just got here so I guess that is good. But when I think about it, it feels like I've already been here for a year. It's hard to explain. I getting along good with my district, there are a lot of sick kids for sure. All of last week was the same thing every day. We would wake up, eat breakfast, go to class, eat lunch, study, TRC, dinner, TRC, class, and then bed. So it's pretty chill here. Nothing new ever happens. My comp is cool and we are getting along great honestly. I don't know if I would say I love it here but it's good. I still get a little homesick at night but not as much. Those first couple days were for sure the worst. We got our flight plans and we leave Aug 1st at 8:50 in the morning. So we have to wake up at 4:30. I was assigned to be the like flight manager haha. I guess I just have to keep track of the 20 of us that are going to Baltimore. I like the people here, my district is actually really cool and the food I love. I was drinking like 2 cups of chocolate milk every meal hahah which destroyed my stomach (Mac is Lactose intolerant) but made for a lot of laughs hahah. I decided to stop cause it hurt too bad but for a week I did it. All the missionaries in my district tried to get me not to drink it. Good times for sure haha! I miss all of you a lot, I'm doing great, learning a lot, and having fun! Thanks for all of your emails, letters, and packages!! I love them!!

LOVE, MAC

First Week in the MTC

HEY. Man this is crazy. I don't really know where to start, I've been feeling so many different emotions. I'm tired a lot of the time. I need a nap. I have been homesick a ton but usually it just happens at night. When I'm learning about the gospel and trying to study I don't get homesick. I actually really like learning about the gospel and it is so cool how we teach the "investigators." My companion is nice. We don't have a ton in common but he is a nice dude. My roomates are alright, but my district is soo sick. There are 6 of us going to Baltimore and 6 of them going to OKC. All the people going to OKC are sooo sick and I love them! I room with the Baltimore guys so that kind of stinks but they are alright. I saw Elder Mease, Brown, Grange, and some others while I've been here. It feels like I've been here for 2 years already. I can't even remember when I got dropped off. I miss home a lot but when I am involved in the gospel and learning about stuff it helps me to forget about home and remember why I'm here. I have had so many cool experiences here so far, it's crazy how much I've learned and want to learn. I'll just run down one of my typical days that we have. First though, the first couple days SUCKED. The first day every missionary would say "Welcome to the MTC" and it was sooooo annoying, I wanted to punch them plus we had so many meetings and stuff and I just wanted to be home. But Friday and Saturday were sick for sure. So we wake up at 6:30 and get ready then eat breakfast. Then we can plan our day and go to our classroom for class where our teacher teaches us. We are there from 8:30-11:30 and then Lunch is right after. After lunch we have exercise time for an hour and then free time for personal study and companion study and whatever else we want to do with the gospel. Yesterday we had our first TRC which is where we teach someone for like 30 minutes, and we treat them as real investigators. They say some of them actually aren't LDS. But during our free time we prepare for that and stuff. Then we have dinner at 5:30 and then class time again from 6:30-9. Then we go back to our room, write in our journal and look at all my letters, over and over again. hahaha it a good time though overall, I actually like being here sometimes so that's good. Thank you for everyone who wrote me letters and dear elders, I love dear elders! I love and miss you all!!!!!!
McKay

He sounded pretty homesick so I asked how he was really doing:
I really am actually doing good. I really honestly like it here most of the time! Best decision I have ever made for sure mom! I only get homesick at night and it sucks but then during the day I'm great!!!

Here are some pictures he sent:
